Our Beloved Sarah......

Our Beloved Sarah................

This is going to be a very hard post for me to write, and one with many tears.

Our Sarah was sixteen years old this year. As a puppy she first lived with friends of my daughter Jill. They could not keep her because their children were too young to take care of a puppy.  Jill and Jerry gave her a wonderful home with them.

Jill had two other dogs at the time. They all got along for a good while. Than one day Sarah and Pupster got into a fight. Two females that all of a sudden did not get along. Sarah was injured and we brought her home with us. She lived with us for many years. And Blessed us with unconditional love.

She was so special and was our constant companion.

Sarah shared our every space with us.

Her constant companion besides us was our precious Smokey, they were together for 16 years. Smokey was 17 years old when he passed over to the Rainbow bridge on January 19, 2012.

One of Sarah's favorite things to do was to eat!!! Nothing got in her way when she was hungry!!

On June 24th, we put Sarah out to go to the bathroom. She never, ever, would leave this one area. Even when we had her outside with us, she would always come to the front door and wait to go in.
We don't know what happened on this day, but when my husband went to let her in, he could not find her. We didn't panic at first, because we knew she would not be far away. She could not hear or see, and always stayed close by.  That short time of looking went into days and nights of constantly looking for her. The neighbors came over to help us until 11pm. and again early the next morning.
We put posters out, called the vets and the SPCA and other neighbors to keep an eye out for her. No one could believe she was missing. Where could she have gone. She has had the same routine for years.

The heartbreak is so  unreal, as those of you who have lost one of  your furry family know. The unknowing is the worst part of what could have happened to her.  If she did go away to die, at least we know where she was. But not having anything as a reason is so very hard. We kept hoping and looking for these two weeks. We live in the country, so we don't know if a wild animal got her or what. I just pray she did not suffer.

It has been almost exactly 6 months since Smokey passed.  I know they are together now, as we have no hope that she is still living.

We have loved you in life and miss you so much. You will always be with us, as Smokey is.

Goodbye our Dear Sarah

A wonderful week at my daughter's home and enjoying the time with our granddaughters. They are sharing secrets of what they plan to do while Nana is visiting with them.

They always have something in store for me to share with them. And I am never disappointed.

Kathleen decided she wanted to do a SPA day for her mother, her sister and I. She brought all kinds of lotions and hair accessories to use on us in her SPA room. lol

Since the 4th of July was being celebrated there that weekend, we decided to do our nails in red and blue fingernail polish.

They were ready for some outdoor water fun in the backyard after the spa time.

Kathleen loves to play with play dough and create all kinds of goodies. So this was another day of fun for her and I. We made all kinds of cakes, cookies, pies, hamburgers, french fries.... you name it. We made them!!! All colors that you can imagine.

A game of golf came about when her dad decided to clean out their garage and Kathleen found an old golf ball and club.

She is very intent on what she is doing.

One evening Jerry (their dad) decided to take the girls and I fishing. I did not have a fishing license so I just sat and watched them enjoying themselves at the lake.

Kathleen had her "Wormie" to hook onto her fishing pole. And they were all ready to go fishing.

The lake was so pretty that evening.

Kathleen set up her little chair and threw out her rod and was ready and waiting for the fish to arrive.!

Hayley caught a fish on her first try!  All the fish they caught were thrown back in to the lake.

They tried different spots to fish.

Each one of them caught 6-8 fish, compared to dad's  one.!!

All of a sudden, Hayley hollers.... "I caught a turtle!"

And sure enough she did!! He latched on to the worm, after some tugging he got the worm and swam away.!  What excitement that was!!!!!  :-)

The setting sun on the lake was producing some beautiful pictures.

Soon it was time to head home. We all enjoyed the evening together.  And for me it was a great memory to share with them.

The whole week was filled with fun things to do, which made it go by so quickly. I wanted to ~Take the Time~ to share some of those special moments that I spent with them.

May every one have a wonderful weekend. ~Take the Time~ to enjoy each day, as the days go quickly into another week.!

The Frog and the Chipmunk Came to Visit

                                                               One Afternoon......................

While relaxing in our backyard, we had a couple visitors  that came to visit.  Wasn't prepared that much so the pictures that evening were few.

Mr. Chip came for supper.  An acorn was on his menu tonight.

Hmmmm  must be pretty tasty. As he munches on it for quite a while.  Maybe like I do, when I enjoy a food that is really good, I make it last as long as I can... Example a piece of chocolate cake.
:-)

Awwwww that was soooooooo good! Now my cheeks and tummy are full.!

One of the many Woodpeckers that come to eat at the Suet cages. They love this stuff!!!!

Of course Mr. Froggy, who is a subject of quite a few of my photo pictures. He is so photogenic
and loves having his picture taken.!  :-)

He just loves sunning himself on a rock or a Lily pad. He is getting a pretty good tan!!

Peek-A-Boo----You can't see me hiding behind this water plant.!

                                                   Well, I'm done playing....good night!

The Day Lilies are demanding some "Me Time"

They love spreading themselves over  the years to give a colorful display among the green of the trees!!

~Taking the Time~ for a bit  of silliness.  All on a summer evening.!

Hugs!!!  Have A Wonderful A Week!

The beautiful Sunset

                                                                       THE  SUNSET

The Sunset........." The appearance of the sky when the sun goes down below the horizon
at the end of the day."

I have always loved looking upward toward the skies.  It provides so much beauty in so many ways.

Whether a dark  cloudy filled day, the bright sun shining, white billowing clouds meeting together as they roll on by to form one large cloud.  Or the beautiful sunset as the sun goes down at night.

I have ~"Taken the Time~ during different rides or being outside to take pictures of sunsets.  You can keep them in your mind or take pictures to look at them whenever you need something beautiful and peaceful to look at.

Can you just feel the peace and warmth coming forth from this sunset. The clouds are lined in gold.  And the beautiful sun rays reaching upwards.

Hues of lavender, pink, yellow and white behind a row of trees.  As the sun is dropping behind them. it gives us an "Awwww " moment.

Looks like a can of red paint has flowed across the sky. The sun preparing for night puts on a display that is mesmerizing  as if  holding  our attention in a spell.

Can a mere paint brush paint something as beautiful as this?

You never know what colors you will see, or how strong the color will be.

Just takes your breath away!!

If you are fortunate to have a body of water near by you can see the sunset  reflected in there.

So much beauty by just tilting the head upward!

It is almost like a messenger sending us a special message and asking us for an admirable  approval.

There is so much beauty to see whether we are on the ground or looking up to the sky.
We just have to learn to ~Take the Time~.

Maybe tonight or the next night you will get to experience seeing a beautiful sunset.
Enjoy it... it is the perfect ending to a perfect day.
If you are not  having a perfect day, looking upward might bring you the peace you are seeking.

Have a wonderful night.!!
